I already bought 4 different brands under £60 that proved to be completely useless, but besides being very sceptical, i decided to give it one more chance with the cheaper ones before investing in the £200 ones. What a surprise, awithz portable spot welder actually does properly weld and doesn’t even need to be set to the max. Works just as advertised (very rare these days when it comes to gadgets) and exceeded my expectations. I use it for 18650 lithium battery packs, and i certainly do recommend it. I tried welding nickel strips of different thicknesses to the batteries, from 0.1 mm (for power 2) and 0.15 mm (for power 4) to 0.2 mm (for power 7) – it welds well.

The thickness of the nickel plate should be less than 0.1t to ensure a very strong weld. A very thick solder bar of 0.2t or more is not suitable for its intended use. Using the plate included as a sample, the welding was done quickly and reliably.

It was very well i am very impressed for how cheap it was as a whole unit i’ve used it already on eight 3s battery packs and it is only used one out of three bars of battery this will last a while. It does come with sandpaper which is useful as the tips start to get covered with the scorchings and you do have to sand them off every once in awhile very lightly just to be able to get contact but all in all great unit

Shipping took a while, but i love the product itself! The ui is barebones, but it’s a spot welder, what do you need an lcd screen ui for?? All of that money went into the internals, and they pack a punch. I turned the power up to max and tested it on my nickel strip and it just punched a hole straight through! Will have to use lower settings but it’s great to know i can use thicker stuff if i want to.

Paid on 09.02.2026, received on 19.02.2026. The package arrived undamaged, although it was packed in a simple bag (even without bubble wrap). The set includes 2 spare electrodes, sandpaper, nickel strip, and a charging cable (50 cm). The battery was charged to about 2/3 (2 out of 3 LEDs were lit). Charges with a current of 1A. It works. The complete nickel strip (thin one) is welded at power level “2”. If you don’t press “3” firmly enough, it might burn out. I’m sure I’ll burn through “4”. At the moment, I am satisfied. I did not communicate with the seller, so there was no need.

Very nice tool. I pimped it by adding two capacitors to the battery which doubled its power. Interestingly this is a capacitor less design only using a high current lipo battery. The internal and external construction is of high quality. The battery is connected to a temperature probe which is a nice safety feature. Though they can save the charging cable. Usbc cables are ubiquitous these days anyway.

Got it today and i didn’t have high hopes as i saw a review claiming it didn’t have much power (i bought it anyways because i didn’t need a lot of power) but i believe that person must have been using it while it was almost flat as the manual says the power is reduced when it’s low on battery. I think it’s got plenty of power and it’s very capable of whatever hobby things you could need it for. It also feels well built and comes in a nicely presented box. One thing you got to keep in mind is that you have to learn how to get good looking spot welds, it does take a bit of time and trial and error and i’m still learning so my spot welds look quite bad, but i’ve done a decent amount of very clean welds so i know it’s capable of doing good welds. 10/10 i would absolutely recommend
